Properties and uses of NBR

The copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile polymerized by butadiene and acrylonitrile is called butadiene acrylonitrile rubber, or nitrile rubber.

The copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile polymerized by butadiene and acrylonitrile is called butadiene acrylonitrile rubber, or nitrile rubber. Its content is an important indicator affecting the properties of NBR and is known for its excellent oil resistance.

The heat and oxygen aging resistance is better than that of natural rubber and styrene butadiene rubber.

Its wear resistance is 30% - 45% higher than that of natural rubber.

The chemical corrosion resistance is better than that of NR, but the resistance to strong oxidizing acid is poor.

It has poor elasticity, cold resistance, flexure resistance, tear resistance and large heat generation.

Because of its poor electrical insulation performance, it belongs to semiconductor rubber and is not suitable to be used as electrical insulation material.

The ozone resistance is poor.

The processing performance is poor.

It is used for making rubber hose, cots, sealing gaskets, tank liner, aircraft fuel tank liner and large oil bag.

It can be used to manufacture transport belts for transporting hot materials.
